Movie Review: My Super Ex-Girlfriend

The commercials that I saw for this movie made it look like a quirky, but fairly innocuous comedy. It's about a man who first dates, then breaks up with, a superheroine. And apparently she doesn't handle it very well. The premise has a lot of comedic potential, so even though I don't usually watch comedies, I decided to give this one a chance.

My verdict: Big mistake. This film was crass and vulgar, including a scene with a man's naked buttocks. The humor was generally crude and rarely funny. Uma Thurman was utterly convincing as an unhinged, crazy, obsessive, clingy ex-girlfriend—a little too convincing. Luke Wilson wasn't anything convincing. I didn't really find anything redeeming about this movie. Find something better to watch.
